You can not currently enter dolbardon itself due to covid restrictions but you can walk up to the foot of the castle and explore the surrounding ruins. Good place to admire the view and learn about the history of the arwa

This ruined castle is located in a commanding spot between the two lakes Padarn and Peris. Even now it's easy to imagine how imposing it must have been. A fairly steep ascent from the road gets you to the castle grounds and it's well worth it.

Small, but fantastically preserved and presented castle, tucked away within some of the most dramatic scenery in the UK. Free entry and surprisingly accessible, one of the staircases up to the top level has been left open to the public (though take care), and the land around is riddled with pathways through the woodlands. Very pleasant visit.

A charming place in every way, a beautiful panorama of the Snowdonia mountains and the town. It is worth visiting at any time of the year.

A beautiful little walk which we expected to go up and come down the same way but there was an added little loop down the other side of the castle, which took us back down onto the road by the Victoria Hotel. We followed the road (pavement) and eventually came upon the footpath taking us back up to the castle. There was the added bonus of a "Geocache" too. Heads up though the slate bridge over the river at the beginning was quite slippery after the rain, as we're the odd slate step on the way up. Which I understand is completely natural with slate and water but just a fair warning before you start off on your trudge.

Easy walk up from the car park. Very scenic view on the top. :)

Located fairly close to the Snowdon Railway entrance with one of its grounds entrances being located next to one of the available parkings, it is nice simple find for those who are fans of the panoply of castles that Wales has to offer. Accessibility requires climbing some rough paths so be conscious of that when visiting with people who have restricted mobility.

Very beautiful place. Isolated area. But breathtaking surroundings.
