Great to be up there with the mist swirling around.

Great place for family walks and lots of well kept public footpaths to follow. At the car park there are picnic benches and places to sit at the top next to the monument near the white horse.

A pleasant (although uphill) walk in chalk uplands. Plenty of wildflowers for interest and some local wildlife. The only problem for us was parking as the lay-by was full and we had to use a different lay-by and walk back quite a distance.

Great place to watch red kites and smaller birds of prey. Peaceful today

It is a lovely walk up the To The Cherhill white horse,Oldbury Castle Hill fort and the landsdown monument, when I visited this time there was a lot of low cloud and a brisk wind at the summit, but as ever it is still worth making the effort no matter what the weather,as it makes such a difference to the landscape every time, with the sun casting shadows, the mist making it slightly eerie I’ve yet to go up in the snow. Its a shame the monument is still awaiting refurbishment as it does spoil the overall outlook. It is quite a steep incline to get to the top.So I suggest you put on the appropriate footwear before venturing out,on my walk once at the top there was also a chilly wind blowing so advisable to take a coat.As down below it was reasonably calm and warm.Stay safe and....Enjoy.
