I saw excellent work by Cambridge Sashcraft on our street and arranged for them to repair our Victorian sash frames and replace the actual sashes with double glazed wooden replicas. The wait was several months but I was kept informed about when they were coming so didn’t feel like I was waiting unnecessarily. The work was done over two and a half days by polite and friendly guys who did a very good job. There wasn’t much mess (they cleaned up and protected carpets). The quality of the replacement windows and the repairs was excellent. Most people can’t tell we have had replacement sashes and just think our windows have been renovated. We noticed the quietness and lack of draughts straight away. We now find we are turning down our heating by a couple of degrees too. We had replaced the 1980s windows at the back of the house with composite PVCu but noticed the biggest change to warmth after the sashes were changed. It’s now a pleasure to be able to open and close our sashes easily and to lock them quickly and securely. Although this work was not cheap, I feel it was worth every penny and also has improved the energy efficiency rating of our home.

Liam and his team have transformed the 9 sash windows in our Edwardian house, which had been badly neglected for many years. The work is of an extremely high quality and the team are very knowledgeable, professional and reliable as well as being friendly. All the windows now open smoothly and are perfectly balanced. Liam went to a lot of trouble explaining the various options and helping us decide exactly what we wanted. We chose double glazed sashes at very little extra cost and the house is noticeably cosier in the cold weather. The work was done during the covid lockdown but we were reassured by the stringent precautions taken by the team, and everything went smoothly. We highly recommend Sashcraft to anyone who wants to restore their windows to better than their original glory.

I'm delighted with my windows: the best investment I could have made in my home. I had new sashes fitted, and the frames renovated. They look superb, a perfect match for the originals, and are so easy to open and close. The house feels warmer in winter, but power usage hasn't gone up.
