The House at Kettle's Yard was created by Jim Ede, former curator at the Tate Gallery, who lived here from 1958-1973, in 1966 he gave the house and its contents to the University of Cambridge. Entry to the House and gallery is free. Kettle's Yard is an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation.

Kettle's Yard is one of my favourite places to visit in Cambridge. I love it because it's a beautiful space and shows how art can just be part of our lives rather than stuck in a gallery. It's also free which is a huge bonus but you do have to book a timeslot. This is a must see for any visitors to Cambridge.

The staff are very helpful and enthusiastic - I had a tour of the house with a group of three people, and the guide provided interesting facts about the various objects inside. There is also a small contemporary art exhibit inside the museum that is worth viewing as well.

Been here recently and spent an amazing time enjoying and appreciating contemporary architecture from start to end. There are lots of things to see. The family who owned this house have been collectors for so long. As you walk, you will see lots of items which are of course arranged nicely and thoughtfully. If you are in Cambridge, this is a must go place. This is free entry and they will take you on a guided tour. Enjoy :)
