Went with my boyfriend just before Christmas to celebrate. We went at lunch time and had the full tasting menu (230pp). Service/ food are what you would expect from a Michelin 2 stared restaurant and deserve what you pay for. I would describe the overall impression as “heavy” - everything is cooked to the exceptional standard but every dish is not light. Would go for the lunch menu if you are not a big eater.

Absolutely loved this place! The service was amazing, we were so well looked after! The food was divine, the wine list was superb, I’ve been wanting to go to this restaurant for years and it did not disappoint! Thank you for a wonderful evening! Can’t stop thinking about the amazing dishes and the divine chocolates!

We had a romantic meal planned as a treat revisiting midsummer house after a lovely meal a few years ago. Midsummer house, which was vegetarian friendly when we booked and paid, have informed us they will now no longer serve vegetarian options (which we requested at the time of booking pre covid). Understandable in difficult times except they would initially neither refund our booking or offer us a vegetarian option. edit: After chasing since June (almost three months) and a threat of legal action we received an apology and refund mid September. The refund issue seems to be with their head office, rather than Midsummer House house itself, but that doesn't make the process any less painful.
