When I first met Kate I was at an extremely low period in my life. After undergoing pelvic surgery in May 2020, I developed Lymphodema overnight - my body below my waist doubled in size. I was in pain and found it difficult to move about. I had always prided myself in looking after my body, eating healthily, exercising and watching my weight. I felt that all my good work had been cancelled out and it looked to strangers that I took no care of my body whatsoever. I found Kate's details through looking at Bupa's accredited practitioners' list and fortunately she was able to see me within a week. I attended my appointment and was immediately put at ease by Kate's comforting and reassuring manner. Her treatment room is on the side of her property with a separate entrance and is pleasantly decorated. Kate explained that she would measure my body in various places for comparison over the coming weeks. She gave me a MLD massage which was comforting and said she would order some wraps which would form the other part of the treatment. I had an extensive course of 10 MLD massages over a few weeks and wore the wraps day and night. Apart from the fact that Kate's measurements were consistently lower over this period, I could see for myself that my body was looking much more like it used to and family/friends noticed it to. I am no longer in pain and I am able to move around much more easily. Kate is now helping me with being fitted for compression stockings and I plan to see her for monthly MLD massages to help keep control of my Lymphodema. I can truthfully say that Kate saved my life, I was at a point where I could have given up but now feel much more positive about myself and my future.
