The service is excellent! The befrienders can’t do enough for you, and the office staff are great too. Nothing is too much trouble for this superb company, and I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Carlton Hayward and his team provided comfort and companionship to my Mom during her final years, as well as all kinds of practical help. She was often hard to please, and her quality of life declined month by month, but Carlton has a special ability to build trust (and a great sense of humour), and continuously adapted the care his team provided, so that he became an essential part of our support network. This was hugely helpful as my sister and I live overseas. Like my Mom, I'm hard to please, but Carlton and his team are truly something special. I recommend them very highly.
I am an ex pat living abroad. My dad had a stroke in 1999 and organising things for him hasn't always been easy. Hayward Befriending have been helping my dad for many years now on the befriending side. My dad has been ill recently and now requires help at home, so they have been contracted to help on the care side and Hayward Care have stepped in to help. To say it is a massive burden lifted from me would be an understatement because they do it so well. I have absolutely no fears or worries for his well being with them taking care of him. My dad already had reduced mobility, and recent events have reduced it further. Part of their brief from Social Services in addition to basic care, is to try to help him practice walking. They are doing more than that. They are actively encouraging him to mobilise and improve his walking. Their staff are kind, friendly and professional. But most importantly, everyone I met demonstrated the ability to care. This for me is most important. If your loved one needs the services of a company like Hayward and you are reading this, I understand the stress you are feeling and the question you are asking. Is this the right company to help my loved one? My answer to you is YES they are. Stop looking now. This IS the company you NEED to help your loved one. Whether it is their befriending or care services you need, they will help to relieve the stress and worry you are feeling. If you are paying privately, it will be money well spent. If they are being offered as an option by Social Services, choose them. I really can't tell you how good they are! You won't regret choosing them.
