The Canterbury team are very friendly and helpful, and are a pleasure to be treated by. However, they need to have proper open access to their own diaries, which seem to be controlled by head office. The Canterbury branch is only open one day a fortnight, and no appointments can be made for over a month in advance, so it can take a while to get an appointment, and there can be lengthy waiting times, not really acceptable. You forgive as they are so friendly! I was hoping for lense replacement, which the optician recommended, however on seeing the surgeon, he recommended laser for just one eye. I had this procedure ( which was much cheaper!) and am 100 percent happy with the result. So glad I followed his advice, rather than the sales team! I use my left eye for reading, and right eye for long vision, which is now perfect, thanks to the laser. The whole procedure was fascinating and painless...( Sore for 24 for after, and no make up for a week!!) I would recommend meeting the excellent surgeon before and really listening to the side effects of any elected surgery, to be sure you are fully informed.

Very possibly the worst ever customer care experience it has ever been my misfortune to be involved in. My wife allowed herself to be talked into having laser surgery with this bunch. All very nice when they were taking the money and to be fair the surgery went well. The down side is they have got to be the worst time keepers in the world. Anyone that thinks the NHS waiting times are bad should experience this lot and your days of moaning about the NHS will be over. On the day of her surgery the surgeon was two hours late turning up. As for the follow up checks at the Canterbury shambles (sorry shop) the only surprise is if you are seen within an hour of your appointment. The last visit had to be the worst. My wife and I had taken the morning off work for her 9:30 appointment. We arrived in the shop a few minutes early to be told the optometrist had not yet arrived and further more they had no idea where she was and when she might grace us with her presence. Rather than sit in the empty shop we thought it might be a good idea to go and get a coffee round the corner. We checked they had our phone numbers and told them what we were going to do. At the time they thought it a good idea and told us if she turned up they would let us know. We went and had our coffee and half an hour later having had no phone call thought we better go back to the shop to see if they had managed to contact the optometrist to get some idea of when she may be putting in an appearance. We found the shop to be quite full and were told “yes she is here and you are now 8th in the queue to be seen. This meant that our 9:30 appointment would now take place at around 13:00 providing she didn’t take a break for lunch that is. So there you have it two people losing half a day’s work each a 34 mile round trip and the end result a big fat nothing well done optical express I hope you are proud of this achievement.
