My experience at Springfield Hospital was very positive, particularly with my consultant, Mr Raghuvanchi. I have had two successful hip-replacement operations and I am so grateful to him for giving me a new lease of life at the age of 75. The nursing staff and physiotherapists were excellent too.

I have recently undergone a partial knee replacement under the expert supervision of Mr Raghuvanshi (consultant surgeon) and his team. I appreciate that this procedure is extremely concerning to many especially in this uncertain times . Therefore if anyone is due to have this procedure in near future I would be happy to share my experience pre and post to try to answer any uncertainty you may have . In the first instance you can contact me via email at [email protected] and we can take it from there. Cheers Dave.

This was my first and so far only major operation. I was more than a little anxious. I was referred by my GP for a hip replacement and was seen by Mr Manav Raghuvanshi. He was very calm about the process and explained all of my options including anaesthetics. I didn't want to be fully under from a general anaesthetic. I was offered the epidural option and the process was explained. We agreed on this option. On the day of the operation from booking in until the operation it was very relaxed. I found all of the staff at Springfield Hospital very professional and helpful. Because I had the epidural option within 55-60 minutes of the operation ending I was back in my room and eating a light meal. The following morning I was up and about with the physio. I found recovery far faster than I could ever have expected. I was discharged from hospital two days after the operation to recuperate at home. Follow up visits for progress and physio were made. Within 6 weeks of the operation I was completely discharged. It is essential that you follow instructions for post operation and you do your exercises to help build muscle strength back up. Within 10 days of the operation I was able to drop 1 crutch, within a further couple of weeks I was without the second. I went at a speed that suited me. I kept a crutch around for a little while longer just for reassurance. It is now almost a year since the operation. Whilst the hip feels mildly different it is now a natural feeling. I can do everything I could do before including roofing. I just remain mindful of what has happened. I cannot fault the process, Mr Raghuvanshi, his staff, the hospital or recovery. If you need it done I would thoroughly recommend it, its made such a difference.

I was seen very quickly by Mr Raghuvanshi. My operation was done very promptly on the 1st October 2019. Everything went according to plan . No complications. I am driving at 6 weeks and will hopefully be riding again in 3 to 6 months. I have now had both hips done and am now pain free.

Mr Raghuvanshi, and indeed, all the staff at Springfield Hospital cannot be praised highly enough. Mr Raghuvanshi was very thorough in explaining every aspect of my two total knee replacements over the last 2 years. He was totally open to any questions and no question was off limits. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Mr Raghuvanshi to anyone looking for an Orthopaedic Surgeon for joint/hip replacements. A credit to his profession.
