In September 2016 my daughter began her degree at Hartpury College taking her horse Nero with her. Moving so far from home for the first time and having the responsibility of looking after a fairly new horse was a big responsibility for Chloe but she was excited to begin a new journey with Nero. It was hard to leave them both but I was happy to know they were together as they are so close. Little did we know that the move was going to put a great strain on Nero and he became quite unwell very quickly. Fortunately our wonderful equine vet at home in Essex had recommended Cheltenham Equine Vets as he had trained and worked with Emma Travis. I really couldn’t imagine we would be in need of their help within days of Nero arriving at Hartpury. Throughout the three years that Nero and Chloe have been in Gloucester Emma and Anna have had to see Nero on numerous occasions. They have supported both a stressed and anxious mother (me) as well as being on the end of the phone to support Chloe. They have dealt with chronic ulcers a suspensory ligament injury as well as a number of injuries due to Nero being a bit accident prone. The admin team and the veterinary staff have been exemplary. Nero has received the best possible treatment which has been administered with kindness and understanding of his qwerky behaviour. Advise has been readily given when needed and all treatment plans discussed with Chloe and explained in detail with support on the end of the phone as required. We are so grateful to have had this support and expertise and thank you so much for supporting Nero, Chloe and I over the past three years.
