NOT SURE Friends dialed 999 on Friday evening as burglars smashing communal front door to flats and entered building. 999 response: not sufficient emergency! Told 4 officers on duty for whole of Cheltenham and surrounding area! In USA police in cars PATROL...they stop slightest illegal activity from parking to litter to failing stop at stop sign. They patrol at about 20mph on their own. Here, they just zoom around, ignore minor offences and usually chatting to a colleague. I have just asked two offices in car way they 'patrol' together.. the response:' that's how we do it and it's company! So in my mind, patrol individually freeing up officers for evenings when more offences take place! Police are great; organisation debatable?

Staff are really helpful
Unfortunately Glos constabulary have no interest in community crime. After a vehicle theft and a string of damage and attempted theft incidents I have still had no support from the police in any form. I have started to refer to 101 as the crime reference number service. After trying to prompt action by informing the presence of CCTV for one of the incidents I was told that it would be a good idea for me to investigate the CCTV to see if I could find evidence. Nice to know I should be investigating crimes myself. There is a large divide between the police and the public, particularly concerning young people. Until the police are ready to work with local communities this will only grow.
I would rate gloucestershire police below one star, as i have had been treated very bad by them, So have my nephew.
Helpful, friendly, informative service. In one word very professional. They will find information even for extremely difficult questions. I wasn't able to get some information about motorbike driving licence and those guys give me a full insight on that matter. They didn't send me out or advice to search Internet but check it out for me. Five stars for our local Hesters Way Police Station.
