A nice place to visit and enjoy the ruins, it's not a place that you can stay there for long in my opinion. If you are visiting the Abbey from over 40 miles you will need to make more plans to make it a full day out again this is my opinion. The countryside and views are stunning.

Covid secure, one way systems where appropriate. Good interpretation boards and a QR code to hear a website delivered audio tour. Lots of room for the twins to run off some energy. Nice museum and cloister gallery with the Abbey's history whilst looking at the craft of the stone masonry. Nice to learn of the Abbey's connection with our county of Hampshire. Jess, doing the tickets and the shop, was very a pleasant attentive host.
Surprised how good this was especially the museum. The small church is worth a visit as well
Only walked past on the foot path but looks a very tranquil place.
Beautiful, peaceful ,interesting , historic are just a few adjectives that could describe Hailes abbey. Lovely place to visit it was thought to have a shrine which people made pilgrimage to because it was called the blood shrine and contained the blood of christ . It also has two museums on site one inside and one outside both very interesting and informative showing many finds which were excavated at the site. It is maintained by English Heritage and the staff there were wonderful so helpful and knowledgeable and enthusiastic and entertaining. If you appreciate the importance of history this is a must see place .
Absolutely beautiful. So peaceful. Nice to wonder around, you can still feel the sanctity of the place. Also visited the Norman church at the entrance. Mind blowing. The inside was fantastic. So beautiful.
Interesting remnant of medieval England, well presented and compliant with covid restrictions. Not a great deal of the building remaining but some impressive carved stone in the small museum and around the site. Set in beautiful and serene countryside.
Beautiful piece of history! Despite the rain, it was amazing to be in this almost 800 year old site; walked where so many had before. Even in ruin, we could feel the reverence of the hallowed grounds. I could go on and on but I'll end it here. We were lucky to meet Jess and Steve, who told us about the bored aunt of Lady Grey (I think that who she was), who frequents the grounds and likes to make herself known! Extra thank you to Steve, who's directions got to our hotel quicker than any map. Would recommend it to anyone interested in seeing stunning views while tapping into the lesser known, but equally as interesting, parts of English history.
