We would one million percent recommend Jon for capturing your special day with the most beautiful photos and Sandra if you are looking for a film too (which you seriously should consider!). Not only were we completely blown away by the finished photos but you couldn't ask for nicer people, Jon put us right at ease in front of the camera from day one at the engagement shoot and right through the day itself - we also had so many guests say how impressed they were! Thank you so much Jon and Sandra - you are the best! :-)

We wanted to say that Jon has been amazing the whole way through our wedding process, from the pre wedding shoot, right the way until post wedding. He got the engagement shoot photos back to us really promptly which were amazing, and set the tone for the style for the wedding. On the day of the wedding, Jon arrived in plenty of time to shoot a 'first look' with both of us which put us at ease for the rest of the day. Jon blended into the background and made everyone feel so at ease, with many of our guests singing his praises throughout the day. He was also kind enough to take a number of group shots as these were important to us. Jon couldn't have done anything better on the day and certainly stayed much later than he was meant to to ensure he got all the important moments. We have already received a sneaky peek from the day, which look incredible and cannot wait to see the rest. We couldn't recommend Jon more and hope that he will shoot friends future weddings so we can see him again. Thanks again for everything Jon Dan & Ciara xxxx
Jon took the photos for our wedding at Hilles House. He was relaxed, friendly and was a delight to deal with. His documentary style was very natural and depicted the feelings of the event really well, which we very much preferred to staged photos. There were many many stellar shots from the day and we will treasure his photos.
Terrible Experience - After waiting 12 weeks for our photos (as per the contract), we were unhappy with the processing of the photos. All of the photos are extremely harsh/sharp and consistently showed ourselves and our wedding guests in their worst light. It seems that the sharpening in the post-processing was off making every wrinkle, vein, blemish and mark is unduly highlighted. We are fairly pale people and our skin tone looks orange in every single photo. We didn't feel that there is a single photo in this collection we could send to guests or include in a thank you without re-processing and editing of the collection in its entirety. When we asked for some photos to be re-proccesed so we can send thank you notes and make our families a photo book, we were basically told too bad! When sent the side by side of a RAW, unedited photo and his processed photo - we actually likes the RAW photo. When asked to have a few other RAW photos for our thank you notes and family, we were also told too bad! Our wedding was 6 months ago and we've yet to see any edits to our collection done. I would beware of booking this amateur photographer with poor editing skills. Our iPhone photos and friends produced far better photos and now we have no professional photos of our special day, which is extremely disappointing. UPDATE - After seeing this review, Jon Harper is now holding our wedding photos re-edits hostage and refuses to send the re-edited photos he said he is \working on\.
When looking for someone to shoot our wedding we interviewed 5 photographers, and as soon as we met Jon we knew we had our guy. He’s a very likeable character, clearly very enthusiastic and confident in his ability, and the quality of his work speaks for itself. His artistic style fitted perfectly with the intimate, relaxed mood that we wanted at our wedding. In action Jon commands his subjects with ease and good humour. He really knows his craft and is always looking for interesting shot compositions. He uses the time effectively and sets up the shot before the subjects are required. He gets what he needs quickly, usually in one or two shuttter clicks, and moves onto the next shot. No one is kept waiting and he doesn’t impose at all. Jon stayed for the duration of the wedding, shooting into the early hours. The completed photos were available soon after the wedding day and we were blown away by the quality of the finished product. Any changes we requested have been turned around quickly and without fuss. Overall, we couldn't be happier with Jon's work – we have been left with a stunning collection of photos that don’t just capture our wedding day, but tell a story of our love. Would wholeheartedly recommend.
