Great to be out punting after lockdown. Good service, even found us a wooden pole and tested it as it hadn't been used for a year, also able to park on the road at the top of the lane for 3hrs for nothing. Just had an hour this time but would have 1/2day or longer next time with a picnic, and some bubbles. Our two girls had their first try at punting.

A great place to start for beginner and expert punters! This boathouse offers an affordable punting experience with plenty of boats available. Definitely looking forward to another visit
We were told this was a good place to try punting as it's quieter than other places in the area. Reading the reviews I was worried that it wouldn't be an enjoyable family experience however it couldn't have been any more enjoyable. 3 hours free parking on neighbouring streets and then a short walk to the boathouse. We arrived 5 minutes late but the young lad handling the booking was great. Great customer service skills making us feel special by recommending his favourite boat (39) for us saying it was the best designed and was easier than the others. Lots of others punting for first time so no need to feel embarrassed at lack of skills. Read the "how to punt" on their website first as this was an immense help. In the end a truly fab sunny afternoon on the river. Should have brought some Pimms and strawberries for the perfect experience. Highly recommended.
This place was so much fun... although they dont give you much instructions, we just hopped on board. We hired rowing boats, but you have the option of hiring a canoe or you can do a bit of punting. It's a gorgeous place with a lovely restaurant.
Accidentally had one too many people in the punt and the staff shouted us down, accused us of decieving them and kicked us out. We kept apologising but they were extremely rude and kept insisting we were trying to put too many people in the boat. Wouldn't recommend, plenty of nicer places to go punting!
Punting was great fun but not so much the young, long-haired staffer; rude, dismissive, unhelpful, confrontational, dour, humourless, and lazy. Who on earth thought it would be a good idea to have him deal with the public? Judging by the other reviews here, looks like Cherwell Boathouse Punts have a staffing issue.
The punting itself was fine but the guys running it were awful, rude to the point of being hostile. They spoiled the experience for my family. I just wonder why on earth these guys are in any sort of customer facing role.
Great fun - shame about the bald chap in the glasses being rude and sarcastic to customers from his perch.
