Despite Covid access is straightforward. It's a very easy station to move around with ample parking. There is also an extensive bicycle park with capacity for 150 bikes. I took some photos of the bike park for this review and was challenged. This is good because it means staff are keeping an eye out for anyone acting suspicious around your bikes which is what you want. I popped my bike on a top rack which did require a bit of effort. The station has a William Hill betting shop which seems like an odd choice. I know it's a horse racing town but it would be better if it was a cafe or shop.

One woman standing in the platform gate is so rude and mean . Mannerless and impolite . Very unhelpful. Is she there for harrassing people ? I just couldn't believe it the way she behaved with me . I was on phone and rush ,I asked her to show me the certain platform. She said I don't know show me your ticket . Made me feel like I am lying with them . I them immediately showed her my ticket. Then she said I don't know where it is just look around you will find it .
No where to get a hot drink or snack open. Really not good in the middle of winter
Full of great old architectural buildings
I'm partially sighted and had to travel during lockdown, I had terrible trouble with the touchscreen ticketing dispensers as I cannot see the wording so I usually buy a ticket at the counter or on the train, this has never been an issue but 2 weeks ago I was physically pushed backwards by a tall, bald, security officer before I could even speak a word, his demeanor was aggressive and absolutely unacceptable, I then had to spend 30 minutes waiting for a friendly person to buy a ticket from the touchscreen for me. I then filmed the security officer in question and was met with a sarcastic \have a great trip\ as he knew I was unable to prove that he pushed me backwards. He found it very amusing I however did not.
