Beautiful, waves rolling in as the tide turned and then serenely meandering in as it retreated across the flats

I’ve been coming to West Wittering for forty years and it’s my favourite beach. Plenty of beautiful golden sands, especially when the tide goes out. Great water for swimming and water sports and shallow for what seems like miles which is great for little ones. Easy parking near the beach, toilets and a great cafe and food van. There are also lovely walks around the headland or along to East Wittering. Perfect day out for all. Dogs are welcomed retain parts of the beach at certain times of the year.

Beautiful beach! One of the most beautiful swimming beaches I’ve been to in the UK. Huge long beach, with soft white sand and wind protection from the dunes. Arriving: plenty of parking, but you need to book ahead on the Just Park app, which meant we were left waiting before we could come in. Beautiful sandy beach, lifeguards present and clearly marked swim/ boat/ surf areas marked with flags. Rentals available for activities too. Great facilities- cafe/ coffee dock/ ice cream stand/ food and takeaway, really clean and well set up for Covid restrictions. Also clean toilets and well maintained parking and grounds! Highly recommend!

As far as UK beaches go it’s one of the better ones, plus it has sand! Bonus! Kids love it. Expansive beach but shallow so when the tide comes in a lot of the beach disappears, best to pitch up far from the sea or you might have to move and it gets busy.

Quite a busy beach in season, would definitely recommend visiting in spring or early autumn for best experience. Very good beach altogether with a most stunning backdrop into the heavenly countryside.
