I have had 4 lessons at Dudmoor Farm Riding School this year look forward to it each week. I have been riding for a good many years and although I haven't attended many different schools I found this one above standard. I'm in my senior years and the first pony I rode, Sunburst, was as good as gold and a good choice for me as I hadn't ridden for 6 months and was recovering from an illness. She was a little on the lazy side especially to get from trot to canter but that could have been because of my lack of stamina and weak leg muscles. The next lesson I rode Violet who, although a little too small for me, was a delight to ride and did everything asked of her. Today I rode B a horse more the of height of horses I've been used to riding. She was very well behaved and again did what was asked of her but maybe a little less forward going than Violet. The instructors I had were both young but very knowledgeable about the horses and both gave me help to improve my riding without being condescending or knocking my confidence. All the staff I have met have been very helpful and clearly love the horses. The horses and ponies seem well cared for and happy in their surroundings. Also two of my mounts were bitless which is certainly a tick in the box from me. Reading some of negative reviews I just don't get it. All I can say is that they must have been posted a long time ago and steps to improve have been made because it is a great riding school and I'll definitely continue going there! Nice little starter course and ideal for a quick round of golf. Well worth the green fee.
