Great walks up and down river, lots of benches for weary legs. Not too busy. Olde worldy with boat history.

At 05:30 this morning just as I love it, peaceful.
I love Wivenhoe's jetty. No matter what my mood, or the internal chaos I wrestle with on a daily basis, the jetty is always there for me. There's something beautiful and tranquil about this place no matter the weather. I love it even in the rain. if you're going through hard times, struggling with internal demons or just want to get away for a little while to enjoy peace, the jetty is the perfect place to go. I started visiting recently, sometimes before dawn, sometimes during lunch breaks at work and sometimes in the evening, and found myself away from the world. It's got to the point where I almost want to go and get a boat. Some days the tranquillity is just astounding. It's not always perfect, but what place is?
Easy access into the water for boats and a nice place to sit to crab or watch the water or even go swimming. It’s a lovely place to go and watch the sun set as-well.
Love the views from the jetty - esp sunsets over Wivenhoe town or looking down towards the Colne barrier...
Great area to visit. Well worth a visit.
Wivenhoe is a great place to visit on a sunny day with picturesque walks along the Colne. Car parking is limited but easy access by rail on the Liverpool Street to Clacton Line. The Jetty is close to the Colne Flood Barrier and affords views along the river which is navigable at this point. Nearby pubs, the Black Buoy and the Rose & Crown both have attractive outside seating areas near to the river.
Went early morning. Very picturesque and peaceful.
