Ate at the Raj as part of the Government scheme, having eaten in and had takeaways there before, I've always been happy with the food and it was great to see the little place so busy. Only downside was getting a reservation was a darn sight more difficult than usual, but the friendly team managed to squeeze us in and we had a lovely dinner. If you like a fiery curry, I'd recommend there red chilli chicken, it's the hottest curry I've ever had in my life - I'd go as far as to say too hot. I opted against this today and had the chilli lamb shank, not something I'd usually eat in a curry house and it was superb. Keep up the good work guys!

Excellent food. This place looks tacky on the outside , and is quite small inside, so i didn't have high hopes. Decor is clean and modern. Waiter was attentive but not over the top. But more than that the food was EXCELLENT. No over the top food colouring. You can hear them cooking it from fresh. My chicken toak was really well cooked and tasty. Nan bread was fresh. And sundries lovely. I am definitely going back when next in the area. The wine was average price and a good wine. Highly recommend this place.

All in all, I don't think I'll come back and I don't like being mean but things needs to be improved here. I left some days to leave a review for this place, so my emotions would neutralize. Service: I wasn't keen on the service there, constantly looking at me to clearing plates off my table when I'm still eating; it's quite a small restaurant so it was very obvious; I asked if there is big pieces of lemon peel in my Lemon Rice when I've been asked if the food is all good and the waiter said 'Yes' and walked off quickly when I was removing the lemon peel piece by piece from my rice I felt like they wanted to get rid of me quickly so they make space for more people. Food: A. Poppadom with sauces - great B. Garlic Naan - Tasteless C. Lemon Rice - hated the lemon peel but the rest was okay D. Chana Panir (chickpeas w. Paneer) - mostly chickpeas, I would have loved more paneer but tasted good overall! P.s.: Food was ready 5min after I ordered it, exactly by the time I have finished my Poppadom

Superb cuisine. Lovely welcome, peaceful seating and gentle background music. Great selection of wines and bubbly. Incredible menu. Really enjoyed the bajis starter with mint dressing. Peswari main and freshly made naan. Hot towelettes post meal to freshen up.
