I recommend this sculpture park if you’re keen to see an animated sculpture of an elderly man who acts incredulous that anyone would dare visit this park outside of the opening times (which it turns out are once every two years). You’ll then be chastised for not better informing yourself via the website of these opening times, which I can assure you are nowhere to be found.

Owner/caretaker was less than pleasant when we turned up without 'checking the website' first. Only open a couple of times a year and we turned up when they were closed and due to the COVID situation were also still shut...oh well. A bit typical of our stay recently in nearby Tighnabruaich where everything seemed to be closed on a Monday/Tuesday

The sculptures were interesting and varied but the garden was the treat, to develop such a beautiful and varied garden in such a short time is a testament to an artist and great gardener. Thank you.

I have got lots of memories at Caol Ruadh. I stayed there four times and i loved it. It sadly closed down in the late 1990s. The memories and the spirit still lives on forever.
