First Cornish pasty in St Ives and once again, pure disappointment. My bones were filled with excitement as I spotted there was a giant sized bad boy after the large. And still kept below the 5 mark, get in! As I watched in awe, wondering which giant pasty I'd get, the cashier reached from behind the counter and passed me my pasty from the mysterious location that wasn't from the POS. Feeling cheated, we were then shouted at by one of the employees to clear the shop if we were waiting to pick up. Seems like this kitchen got a bit too hot for someone Willing to put the salty water under the bridge, I headed out into the sunshine gleeful with my soon to be taste bud extravaganza. And with the first bite, the regret sank in. The pastry tasted like it belonged to the wrong baked good. Tasted more like apple crust that had been dipped in salt. Looking forward to eating my way to the filling, which took a few bites, I was then hit with my next wave of horror as the insides were just a bland, flavourless, overly salty and somewhat burnt mess. Worst Cornish pasty I've had in my life. And for that reason alone, I have to give this place a 2 star
Took a bite of the pasty, was cold and inedible, went back and complained, they chucked it in the microwave so it came back soggy and barely edible.
Nice staff average pastries. Even when re-heated it was kinda cold inside.
Tried the Lamb and Mint Pastry, it was spot on, will be trying others the next time we visit.
I had 2 of their new meatball marinara bakes. Good price for a tasty light flaky lunch. Enjoyable to say the least. My partner had a spinach and ricotta Pasty that hit the mark as well
Lovely traditional pasty shop, there’s no seating inside and only a couple of benches outside but still delicious none the less. Just watch out for those pesky seagulls!
Lovely food from here, especially the pizzas. Loads to choose from. Good coffee too. It’s my go to place when I ride into St Ives on my motorcycle.
