Modified cellulose fibres are highly efficient as they are capable of absorbing large amounts of fluids whilst keeping the area moist, which is crucial in the management of chronic wounds. SFM uses special techniques to enhance the functionality of these fibres providing improved fabric integrity. Alginates are products manufactured from sodium alginate extracted from seaweed and SFM has developed a method to allow for faster gelling rates and lower risks of residue presence. There is also an antibacterial option containing Silver (+Ag) which allows for the effective inhibition of bacterial growth.
