Off the rails car show is just one of many events hosted by Crewe Heritage Centre, which itself is an interesting place with it's own history of Crewe's locomotive connection. But the car show is an ideal platform to see some other great modes of transport through the years, but of the road instead of the rail. Good for all ages to enjoy and appreciate

Lovely laid back museum. It’s got a nice line up of trains to look at including a full APT. It has an intriguing amount of signalling stuff including a real time reproduction of a day at Exeter West sugar box. A little train ride on a miniature railway caps off a couple of hours well spent. Bit far from the station.

This had been on the 'to visit' list for a few years, so I was looking forward to seeing what it had to offer. Unfortunately, I have to say I was overall disappointed. From a train point of view, there really wasn't a great deal on offer. The APT was OK, you can walk around a fair amount of it, but other than a couple of other diesel locos. On the other hand, I found the signalling exhibits very interesting, I would recommend both the relay room and also the signal boxes. A great insight into behind the scenes of the railway. Would I go again? Probably not. Did I enjoy it? Meh.

Really enjoyed our time here. Considering the very cheap entrance price, there is lots of exhibits (many of which are interactive) to see! Your entrance fee also includes the miniature railway ride. Highly recommended!

Great set of locomotives to view, including the famous APT in all its glory. There are also some brilliant model railways to view and unobstructed views of the WCML from the rooftop of the signal box. Well worth a visit.
