Marcus runs a fantastic BBQ session. Although I BBQ I haven’t been very adventurous and Marcus takes you through some amazing techniques, which importantly you get to eat. The food, the knowledge, the participation and the hosting were all top notch. Will definitely be going back for a more advanced session. TOP TIP: turn up hungry!

Marcus is an absolute legend. What he doesn't know about outdoor cooking isn't worth knowing. The lesson was amazing and taught me how to cook without burning and without guessing as I did before. The course took place in his amazing outdoor kitchen area and we even got presents at the end. I would definitely recommend his courses you won't be disappointed.
I was originally bought the beginners course but decided to upgrade to the intermediate course and it was absolutely excellent. The range of food and techniques shared throughout the day was awesome. Marcus is incredibly hospitable and welcomes you to what is his home. Arrived hungry, left full up. I'd even mentioned to Marcus before I went that there was a particular item of food that I wasn't keen on and he worked to give me another option which was a really nice touch rather than me sit that round out. I'd recommend to anyone who has an interest in BBQ and is looking to enhance their knowledge and step out of their comfort zone.
Excellent and patient teaching. This really got me into BBQ. The lessons are always well structured and you get plenty of hands on help. Initially I went there to just do some family BBQs but now it's a full on hobby. On top of that my family are really happy with my cooking too!
I have attended two classes with Marcus and I can honestly say that these are a great way to learn, develop or enhance your BBQ skills. Marcus has a very relaxed learning style and makes you feel at ease straight away. I have learnt a lot from Marcus and will continue to do so. If you get the chance to go to BBQ school take it. Well done Marcus, five stars from me.
My wife bought me voucher for the BBQ school as a gift for my birthday, I can honestly say it’s without doubt the best gift she has ever bought for me. I learnt so much and it was an amazing experience with like minded people. It was so good that I’ve been again as you can never have enough of a good thing. I’m sure that I will go again in the future. My wife also agrees it’s the best gift she’s bought me as she loves a decent steak done to perfection. That’s all down to the tutorship and guidance of Marcus. I have recommended it to so many friends and colleagues who have an interest in BBQ.
An amazing eye opening lesson into the world of barbecuing, I loved it so much. I’ve been and purchased all the equipment to re-create everything that Marcus taught us. Since then I’ve been back on the intermediate course and again, gob smacked by how much I’ve learnt. Can’t wait for the next course. Great setting with a relaxed chilled environment. Love Marcus’ book Food and Fire, worth very penny I’ll be back again. Very soon.
Get down to deepest, darkest Devon & learn how to cook outdoors from the legend that is Marcus Bawdon at the UKBBQSchool. I have attended on both the basics & intermediate course and have learnt so much from Marcus. He’s such an approachable & laid back person, that even after attending if you have questions, he’s always got the time to give advice. Go and spend a wonderful afternoon in the outdoor kitchen, learn how to cook outdoors properly & at the end eat some amazing food. You won’t go hungry!
