Most unfriendly station serving mainly out of towners- visitors of the convention center. the ticketing machines are far, there are no entry gates and the ticket validation is far from the station. As there is a major fine for not validating- and a high ratio of people who are not familiar with the system- its a problem. Also bad access by stairs and no elevator to ramp level. Really good access to Excel and easy trip to central via Canning Town. - could be a larger platform but not bad!
What you'd expect of a tube station; usually on time and reasonable travel prices, however unable to obtain food or drink from the station itself. A vending machine would be a nice addition, but other than that, pretty decent.
Certainly more functional than attractive, one good thing you can say about the place is that, during exhibitions at least, they have plenty of staff to make sure that everything runs safely and everyone knows where to go.
Useful for ExCel, that's good enough for me
DO NOT BOOK A CAB WITH THEM! the cab service was bad, to start of with I got overcharged for the cab, the office quoted one price and the driver told me to pay way more once I arrived home. The driver was VERY unprofessional asking me for my number. VERY BAD SERVICE BE AWARE
