A great station all around. The shopping complex, Tesco, Lidl and Iceland makes it good to commute from Becontree, Dagenham Dock or Dagenham East for essentials. Served by 4 local bus routes, the 173, 174, 175 and 673 provides good connections to Becontree Heath, Romford, Beckton, and so on. The 173 and 175 are useful to get to Queen’s Hospital and King George Hospital. Also, the 145 and 364 serve nearby, so connections to Becontree and Ilford are also good. Great station 9/10.

The island platform layout makes this station good for train photographers which is nice. Otherwise, decent tube station with step free access down to the platform and is served by nearby local buses.

Generally a great station. TFL noticebard is clear, the station itself is usually well maintained and the brick wall outside that says \Heathway\ adds a nice touch. Its also a 20 second walk away from a Lidl, an Iceland and a Tesco, not to mention a small shopping complex (Heathway Mall). The ramp access is a must for wheechair users and those who can't use stairs easily. The ramp (in the place of stairs) also has another key- albeit not oft mentioned- benefit; from about halfway down the ramp, you can see the corner of the platforms. If your train is just pulling in, the slight slope will turn your half-baked jog into what would be considered a flat-out sprint on level terrain. This makes it an excellent way to catch the train in a pinch. 10/10 would commute again.
