If you're visiting Dartmoor National Parks, this is a must stop shop for a quick snack. The cakes and scones are my personal favourite, all are lovely. There's also plenty of woodwork and pottery which you can browse and purchase which just makes for a lovely break from scouring the plains outside.

Passed by this while walking out of the Powder Mills and decided to stop in. What a lovely place! It's a handmade pottery studio as well as a cafe offering homemade cream teas, cookies, and cakes that were delicious. There is also a small exhibit about the Dartmoor hill ponies and they sell horse meat (ask the owner to explain why, she is very passionate about biodiversity and sustainability and I learned a lot about the ponies just from listening to her). Dogs are allowed! It offers pottery classes on the weekends (inquiry needed). Anyways this was a nice stop along my way and the scones were amazing.
Lovely setting and perfect at the end of a walk on Dartmoor. Also on a busy weekend it was quiet and retained its charm. The pottery is lovely and the jam and scones delicious. Lovely people running the place too.
Need to update opening times as we drove for over an hour to find it closed.
The best cream tea for miles around either savoury or sweet! Stunning location. Lots of interesting information about the Dartmoor ponies. Lovely pottery to buy. Fantastic proprietors
