This review reflects my experience of trying to purchase a keyboard online with Dawsons in November 2020. The shops are probably much better but I would not use Dawsons ever again to purchase anything online - because they are simply not geared up to process orders. I have received most of my delivery now but am still waiting for some parts of the order to arrive. There is ZERO communication from Customer services. They never answer the phone. They never respond to emails. They never reply to emails. It is simply the WORST experience I have ever come across and it really is a shame because the folks in the stores seem really nice. I have been trying to return 1 item for over a week now but have no idea where to send the item to because there is no paperwork and no one at customer services ever answers the phone. At one stage I was actually concerned that the whole thing was a scam and they had taken my 3000 but slowly parts of the order have arrived - but no communication as to what will arrive and when. If you are familiar with buying on Amazon then you will know what purchasing on line should feel like - hassle free and easy. All I can say is DAWSONS is the EXACT opposite. Don't bother - way more hassle than it is worth - I wish I had purchased somewhere else - which is a shame - best regards - Mark

Lovely store, packed with great gear and friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. I bought an expensive Les Paul online from Dawsons but preferred a different colour when it arrived. They had no problem in exchanging it and I got to play a couple first in their practice room. Will definitely return...
Could be a great shop but doesn't seem to understand how to optimise the business either for its customers or its profits!
Ordered a new Yamaha bass guitar and a hard case,They had put the guitar in the hard case and then put the case in a flimsy box. The guitar arrived smashed in the case and I’d been done out of the gig bag the bass comes with. So it was sent back in the case no hassle from Dawson’s in-fact they were excellent dealing with the problem their own warehouse had caused. But I had to wait for the bass to come back into stock so that’s a week paid out and nothing to show for it. I sent an email to head office requesting they also send the gig bag when all items were back in stock. Bass arrived in gig bag with hard case in separate box wasn’t so hard. Ordered two more cases and one was smashed again no problem,Dawson’s were once again fantastic at dealing with the return and sending out a replacement but I won’t be returning as a customer After calling one of the staff informed me that they (head office)are always dealing with broken items being sent out by the warehouse.
Always a great place to visit. Lots of music kit. Lots of guitars and friendly staff. Bought my Headrush Pedalboard from them two years ago.
Firstly was charged 9.99 for slow delivery when it should have been free considering it was 489 and their policy states free over 99 and under 30kg, customer service was equally slow at replying to sort it out but wasn't too worried and then the real crunch came when I took delivery of a discontinued (for the past 3years), ex display MK1 version of the MK2 keyboard I had ordered. The MK2 box (which even stated Dawsons display model) had been opened, the newer model taken out and an old used MK1 model stuffed inside, this unit hasn't been sold for years and was covered in marks, how this could happen is beyond me! I then sent an admittedly colourful email sharing my disgust at their service and was called straight away, not so much to apologies but with an attempt at assertiveness to try and get ME to apologies for my language, rather than the diabolical service I had received. Absolutely ridiculous, use another company, there are so many good companies out there that would NEVER let this happen, go with GAK or DV
Overall sense of not being welcome. Several staff around the till near the entrance but nobody did so much as look up when I went in. I spent nearly 20mins in the store, hovering around the various acoustic guitar displays. I was walked passed by at least two staff members, who weren't serving anybody else, but not once did anybody enquire as to whether I needed any help. I even went so far as to try to pick up an instrument, that was obviously security locked, while a staff member walked passed...and still I appeared to be invisible. Bottom line is I went to another store and paid more for something I could have bought here and it all came down to the difference between good and really poor customer service.
Do not use! I ordered an item and they didn't have everything included in stock, it took almost a week for them to inform me (despite delivery being 5-7 days) then after almost 2 weeks I had to chase up as nothing was delivered, it took several emails and phone calls to get someone to give me an answer, finally 2 weeks since ordering i received my item and a cable was missing, chased up with two more emails and never heard back, I ended up buying what I needed after spending 250, I didn't want to waste anymore time emailing and calling.
