i found Damp Detectives on line after being let down by 2 eputable\ damp firms working in the Derby Area. Unlike these other firms Richard Bull of Damp Detectives provided speedy communication by email and was able to arrange an appointment with my tenant and complete a survey very quickly. I was provided with an accurate description of the services on offer and i was provided with a written report which provided photographic evidence of the issues and recommendations for the work required to remedy the problem. The cost of the survey and report was reasonable and the services were provided in a timely fashion.

I was a bit wary of bringing in a service 'just to check' but was really impressed with the outcome. Richard was professional and thorough, explaining his findings and what to do about each of them, both what was needed for a permanent fix and what I could do immediately to make the situation better. He took photos of problem areas on the roof, went all over the house to trace the damp source, and tested water and salt levels where the problem was worse; then gave me an action plan. Very good service and I think probably saved me a lot of mess having a damp course person in who would probably have just suggested re-doing the wall.
