This store of Smyths Toys is a spacious place with a massive selection of toys and everything that makes kids happy and wanting to go there. Great selection of car chairs, cot beds, bikes, rollers, toys for girls and boys, toddlers and older age of children too. Due to the great space most of the bikes and remote controlled cars can be tested and kids can have a trial ride before you'd buy them. Will definitely come back and would recommend if you are looking to buy toys.

You're supposed to be operating as click and collect during the 2nd lockdown but I am unable to click and collect any item and being given the home delivery option when the items are in store. Ive tried to phone the store many times and no answer. Sort it out smyths making stress for people during covid when its stressful enough as it is!
I went to this store yesterday, Friday the 27th November, to pick up a buy and collect, the front of the store was blocked off with tables which is to be expected. The young lady who served me was friendly and professional but while I was waiting for her to collect my purchase an older man came up and asked if I was being seen, I said yes thanks and he suddenly barked at me to wait outside while my order was being sorted out! I was the only person being served and only the second customer there and no one said this to the lady in front of me, I was wearing a mask and keeping my distance, as was everyone else in the queue outside. Virus or no virus this is no way to speak to people, this guy needs an afternoon learning customer service and how to talk to people in general. During testing times we tend to see people's true colours and clearly this guys colours are black with a red armband and a white circle on with a swastika in it.
So today 20/05/2020 I went to this smyths store to get a pool for the kids, as I pulled up and approached the store entrance, a female staff member came out of the door and rudely told me to go to the other side shouting “if you don’t go to the other side you won’t be getting anything” I ended up turning around and getting back in my car and going elsewhere. I found this extremely unprofessional and a little embarrassing. Should paying customers be spoken to in this manner? I don’t think so, she shouldn’t work in that environment where people skills are essential especially as she clearly has no people skills! I hope she gets cramp in her sleep....
Omg how amazing are the staff. Ordered a huge parcel and they wrapped it in bin bags, carried it out for me and even waited for the taxi with me. Outstanding customer service. Well done York Rd staff x
