I was referred to Mr Kalyan with horrendous back pain, loss of feeling down my left leg, severe pain in my left leg that left me with only 50% strength/use of my leg. He arranged a MRI scan which took place within that week. He explained my results and showed me where my problem was and explained the available treatments. I was operated on by Mr Kalyan in November 2020 and can honestly say I have had no pain whatsoever from my leg since! And have full use of my leg again. The care I received from both Mr Kalyan and the BMI woodlands hospital was exceptional and I’m forever grateful to them. Thank you to Mr Kalyan and all staff you really are the BEST!

Over a period of a couple of years I suffered with increasing pain in both calves and thighs accompanied by pins and needles. The pain began to get worse in 2019, especially when I stood up after getting out of bed in the morning, after a period of sitting and when I stood for long periods of time. I was referred to Mr Kalyan, who quickly diagnosed a few issues with my lower spine, including facet joint arthritis and hypertrophy causing stenosis. Consequently, Mr Kalyan performed decompression surgery to the affected area in November 2019. I can confirm that as a result of the surgery and the advice I received with regards to post-surgery care and exercise, I no longer suffer to the extent I did in the past. Thank you.

I've struggled the last 2 year with severe siatica and back pain with a disc protrusion and back problems. I tried physiotherapy, chiropractor, pain medication and was on the NHS waiting list for injections and possible surgery. After a year of waiting and a accident at work, my symptoms became unbearable and I struggled to get by day to day let alone work. With covid canceling all non urgent surgery, I was struggling to see my future and was becoming depressed. I decided to go private and first I tried a series of injections which did help for a short time but eventually wore off. The anesthetist suggested I may need surgery and recommended Mr Kalyan as a great local consultant surgeon. After meeting MR Kalyan I had great faith in his ability and his knowledge and after further tests, Mr Kalyan had the surgery booked in no time. I had surgery on my lumbar 5th Jan 2021 and from the moment I woke up, my siatica was 100% pain free. My back pain has improved around 80% so far and I'm only 6 weeks into recovery.MrKalyan has given me a new lease of life and I couldn't be happier to use him and his services. I would highly recommend anybody struggling who was in my situation, to have a consultation at least with Mr Kalyan. Excellent service and experience from start to finish.I would like to thank Mr Kalyan for giving me my life back. Thankyou !

I had suffered with sciatic pain in my right leg for over 14 years. Having visited physiotherapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists and pain management clinics, I eventually had an appointment with Mr Kalyan. He explained and showed me where my problem was and the available treatments, I was operated on by Mr Kalyan in January 2020 and can honestly say I have had no pain whatsoever from my leg since! I was referred to Mr Kalyan with serious spinal stenosis, I had been suffering from loss of feeling in my legs and significant back pain. Mr Kalyan explained in detail the pathology and my options, i opted for his recommend spinal decrompression surgery, the care i received from both him and the Nuffield Tees hospital was exceptional. I was walking on the evening after the operation and left hospital the next day. I am now pain free and with careful progress back to normal, I cant remember the last time I was pain free. His attention to detail in explaining the options made my choices easier.
