Sadly weathering and lichen is causing these ancient glyphs to disappear. We came 2 years ago and they were clearly visible and still had a wow factor. Today the three enclosures were badly overgrown. In one none of the cup and ring marks remained visible at all. In the enclosure behind the wall some were faintly visible. In the the other enclosure you could still make them out but not too clearly. Amazing to see how they have deteriorated in just 2 years given how long they have been there. It does feel they are not being cared for or looked after. It would be nice to see them preserved for future generations. It’s hard to recommend them in their current state.

An interesting but neglected historic site. Amazing patterns carved into solid rock by ancient persons unknown. Plenty of farmyard parking but signs had degraded so asked the very friendly farmer for guidance. Entrance to the field was so churned up by cows that only some of the party were able to pass by balancing on rocks through a nettle patch.
Difficult to find up a narrow farm road then a trek through a cow field, the stones are in fenced enclosure and are in pretty poor condition being covered in lichen.
Very old stones with ingravings. There is a monitoring ongoing. So please take pictures of the stones and send them to the provided numbers via whats app or sms
The cup and ring marked stones are not that distinct but offer an opportunity to see ancient rock art you can trace with finger tips and imagine their creator repetitiously pounding the rocks. Sited on a working farm with plenty of cattle wandering the field.
Really cool.
You can hardly see any markings....very muddy walk over fields
