Visited for the first time today whilst out walking. I met the friendly butchers, James and Andy. James explained that most of their produce is locally sourced with meat from the Isle of Wight. He kindly gave me four pork chipolatas free of charge to try which we had for our lunch. (The sausages are freshly made on site each morning by Andy). They were delicious! I also bought two Mud Steak and Kidney Pies which we thoroughly enjoyed for our dinner. So full of chunky meat and gravy, they were well worth the money. I will return to the Butcher’s Block

I’ve used this shop since soon after it opened and I think you can safely ignore comments below—both good and bad—regarding the quality of their fruit and vegetables. It’s a BUTCHER’S shop! It sells MEAT, some dairy produce (cheeses), meat accompaniments (sauces and pickles, etc.), and occasionally eggs—never, to my knowledge, fruit and veg (with the exception of locally grown strawberries in season). Having said that, the quality of the meat (much locally sourced) is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful. Thoroughly recommended! Now, if we DID have a traditional greengrocer in Fair Oak..?

The most amazing service you could ever wish for such lovely helpful staff. there products are excellent quality and not overpriced at all. I will never get my meat anywhere else now. I also got the most lovely yummy strawberries and cream today.
