Beautiful building and great Fringe venue.

Here for the fringe and in the balcony and found that the view was restricted and very difficult to see with high front edge and columns all along the front. Seats reasonably comfortable but after 5 minutes the place was so hot that it doesn't matter how good they were

Saw Sir Ian doing his farewell tour.Started as 80 events in 80 days but is now going on to London. Assembly Hall is venue for Church of Scotland's annual assembly(what else?} First came here in the 50s to see a production of Romeo and Juliet. Alan Badel, Claire Bloom and Peter Finch. Magic. So different from Shakespeare at school.

We recently attended a Best of The Fest show ( it wasn't ) but made even worse by dreadfully cramped seating from the balcony and way too hot to be remotely comfortable for 300 plus? people. Organisation was terrible as we were half way in the very long queue and then ended up in the balcony with a restricted view. Those at the back of the queue ended up on the ground floor with better seats and a better view. Very poor venue if packed and avoid the balcony at all costs!!

Site for the Edinburgh Jazz Festival. Other events held there. Good acoustics. Careful where you sit. Many columns obstruct views.

Great venue with a variety of shows on during the Fringe. Building is beautiful but has a lot of stairs. If you have access issues it is best to phone ahead to avoid the crowds. Disabled access is on the Royal Mile at the back of the building.

This is the the worst venue of the Fringe! If you want to go to a sauna while watching comedy, this is the place. You can at least hear how sticky the stage is all the way from the back. Also, it is not kind to lead early arrivals to the balcony and let the late arrivals go to the front. That is just evil logistics! The audio mixer is also too bright. It outshines the stage.
