Really fascinating shop of all kinds of antique and reproduction maps. An excellent place to buy an unusual gift or while away a rainy afternoon as I did. The owner seems to have an encyclopaedic knowledge of maps and their history, illuminating objects’ use and context in an engaging manner. The business has been going for more than 50 years.

My wife and I spent over an hour in this store, and it was easily the highlight of our day. The owner is knowledgeable about far more than just the maps for sale, and was able to answer all sorts of our questions about the city and Scotland. He stayed open past his posted closing time just to accommodate us, and has a great variety of maps and prints of all kinds. I would give this shop my highest recommendation for a visit if you are anywhere near Edinburgh.
Great shop full of fascinating antique maps and prints tucked away in the heart of Edinburgh's New Town. The friendly owner (Paul) is very knowledge and is always happy to chat. He also offers an excellent framing service as well. I'd definitely recommend a visit if you are passing by.
I'm really glad with the treatment I've received in this store. The shop assistant has helped me a lot with the stuff I was looking for. Also he has told me interesting details of the city, cause I was visiting as a tourist. Hight recommended.

The Carson Clark Gallery has not closed but relocated to the heart of Edinburgh's Georgian New Town, and can be found at 34 Northumberland Street, Edinburgh EH3 6LS, at the corner with Dundas Street, beneath the Kweilin Chinese Restaurant.
