It is hosted annually by the Edinburgh University Model United Nations Society. The conference is usually held in March. ScotMUN 2014 and 2015 attracted over 300 delegates who travel to Edinburgh for the weekend conference from the USA, Canada, Nepal, Nigeria, India, Indonesia, France, Italy, Greece, Netherlands, Ireland, the UK and beyond. The conference offers a fantastic selection of Scottish cultural events including a traditional Ceilidh dance and dinner at Edinburgh's finest 5* hotel, the Balmoral.
