Nice little cafe on Leith Walk that has a good range of crepes which i crave when the usual Fringe vans aren't all over town. I went for a savoury crepe and was in love with it. However the atmosphere wasn't great, very quiet and i felt i was intruding on the staff. I expected more with the quirky bench outside stating that if you sit on the yellow bench, where the name comes from, be prepared for stranger to start up conversations. Not sure if i would head back but the food was great if you want a crepe.

Seriously tasty Polish food, all seems to be properly made as it should be by the people who work there. The dumplings and croquettes are really good and seem pretty popular, and the beef stroganoff is the kind of dish you'd expect in a posh restaurant. They do tend to serve pretty filling portions, especially considering the price. The place is nicely decorated with some interesting art work, and clientele is a nice mix of people. Worth a visit if you want a hearty bit to eat at a decent price.

Can't recommend. Dirty glass with white residue on the bottom. Then a long black hair in my soup. I'd comment on food quality but after the above, didn't have much appetite.. Even after a very long waiting time for the main dish..

Yummy! Delicious polish food in a small and cozy restaurant. Try the pierogi (dumplings). You can bring your own drinks paying a fee of 1 each.

Brilliant little place. Really friendly staff, great value, and really fresh and tasty food. I had the spinach crepe with loads of garlic, and the borscht!

If you want to try out the pierogi (polish dumplings) for the first time, please visit Yellow Bench. Very reasonable prices and super tasty: the mushrooms ones particularly I can recommend. Very friendly owner but service can be a bit slow (it does have the 'slow food' label on the window though). I wanted to try the waffles but wasn't convinced: the batter wasn't rich nor sweet enough and the whipped cream from a can. Still, a nice wee spot on Leith walk if you fancy something a little different.
