Sadly I didn’t have as much time to explore as I wanted, what I did see was beautiful and all accessible except the tall towers (due to social distancing) I didn’t get the names of the two gentlemen working today (1/11/2020) but both of them friendly, helpful and happy to chat.

A powerful landmark in Scotland but one few know about or visit. It's walls of the XI century still stand while the rest of it has fallen with its dwellers. It's stunning. There is also a staircase that goes up to the very top where the view of the ruins are incredible...

Visible on the drive into Elgin from the easterly direction,, the ruined cathedral is an impressive structure. It is managed by historic scotland and is open most days. It provides a powerful backdrop to open air Shakespeare and concerts. It is sometimes used as a wedding venue with the option of the Chapter House as an inside venue if wet.

Impressive cathedral, interesting exhibit of details on the construction and history. Little gift shop. Great views from one of the towers.

A huge ruin, you can actually climb inside nd go up the towers. Many hidden displays and some parts are still fully intact like the chapter house. Many signs explaining the meanings. I think maybe 2 hours is a good time to see it all. Effigies of Bishops and many tombs. 100% recommended. Staff let me in free but I was so. Impressed I made a good donation. Truly a hidden gem

Great place to explore so much history and set out well. The gardens were immaculate well done to the team looking after them.
