My partner booked a nights stay for us for the 27th of December as a late birthday trip for myself. The owners of the property cancelled our trip on the 23rd of December my actual birthday to be exact as they went into tier 4. They sent us a message through air bnb to saying they had unfortunately gone into tier 4 and could no longer accept bookings for people travelling for leisure just work etc. They offered us either a refund or to rebook. My partner had already informed the owners we was travelling for my birthday. On the 27th of December my partner messaged the owners back, after the Xmas period and told them we would like to book for alternative dates. They owners then refused saying they were still expecting us and had set the shack ready for us. My partner tried to discuss this with them, saying he had received their message cancelling so why would they be expecting us and they still refused. They are now withholding our 200 for the nights stay. Even tho we have in black and white they cancelled and that they knew we was travelling for leisure. Air bnb have been useless and we still are no further to getting our money back. The owners are very unreasonable and rude and I feel they have gone out their way to rip us off. I think with everything going on atm this is disgusting behaviour! I am a key worker and my partner has spent the best part of this year furloughed. I also care for my sick parents who have been shielding and was looking forward to a break. But have been left very upset and disappointed! Would not recommend to anyone !
