Being the owner of a small camper van I’m a big fan of wild camping and I know the frustration of not being able to find such places. So i can imagine what it’s like for someone with a metal detector when they find a bit of treasure because that’s what it felt like for me when I found Emily’s Cut camping ground with water supply, cold shower & a portaloo which is cleaned on a regular basis. Also there is a lovely village pub just a 20 minute walk away which serves good food and are very welcoming. This site is level cut grass area of approx 2 acres, perfect for groups of friends, family’s & pets. The only thing about hidden gems like this is they don’t stay hidden for very long.

Camping with a difference......great location with village and pub /amenities 10 mins walk, no noisy neighbours or fellow campers to bother you, let the kids and dogs roam free and explore in a safe enclosed environment. This is ‘wild ish’ camping with the convenience of a porta loo, running water and massive bench table with plenty of space for big groups. Loved the fact that Oakham is 10 mins drive too.
Have used the site on several occasions and it’s a fantastic private campsite. Nearby local amenities, friendly staff and will defiantly be using it again. Highly recommend.
Stayed with small group, great place, nice and secluded all round, BBQ's / kids / dogs and late night camp fires all welcome for a change. Very basic facilities though.
Stayed here during the 2020 pandemic as part of a group. Good points - very secluded and private for a group - we literally had the site to ourselves and saw NO ONE else during our stay. Lots of space and freedom from usual campsite rules. Bad points - OMG - only has a cold outdoor shower and a cold water tap!!! Portable WCs are not ideal. Some noise from traffic.
