I booked a 6 week beginners plus course in Enfield. I'll start with the positives because there's not many. The classes are small and there's parking. The teacher of the beginners course has an 'interesting' method in terms of teaching the routine and pole moves, it involves laughing at students attempts or repeating 'No, no, no, no'. Not a method that suits teaching a skill where the student may be trying something new or putting themselves out there in a bid to build confidence. There's about 2 other 'teachers'/onlookers who occasionally jump on the pole to 'help', just watch or shout semi-helpful comments to students. I appreciate that pole isn't always about trying to be sexy and it's also about having fun and not taking yourself too seriously but learning a routine to the sound of Carly Rae Jepsons' one off 'hit', Call Me Maybe is not the way to feel sexy. I emailed my refund request to the email listed on the website, describing my feelings about the course and asking for a refund for the pre-paid course, excluding the classes I had already attended. I received an automated email stating I should hear back within 48 hours, that was over a week ago. I emailed again asking for some sort of acknowledgement, again nothing. I have previously attended a pole fitness course with another establishment and loved it, finishing with a sense of empowerment and achievement, unfortunately this is not what I feel for this course. Yes the prices are cheaper than some other providers but this is definitely reflected in the quality of the product and I still don't feel it is worth the 90 for 6 weeks, as I paid. An hour long class is in no way enough time to warm up, learn new moves and then put them haphazardly into a poorly coordinated dance routine to horrendous music. I'd avoid this class and choose from any other provider you can.
