I grew up in the Oxshott and Cobham Surrey area, from 1979 and used to play at the woods and lake at Lakewood. I am very impressed at the amount of work and improvements that have been made to the lake which no longer is overgrown and full of rotting wood and fallen trees. Whilst it used to be a great adventure every time, now it's a very pleasant place to walk my dog. The lake is beautiful, large lilly pads in the shallows in full bloom at this time of summer. The lake has super soft sandy bottom which gives way to a gentle slope into the water, making a paddle for my older dog and a great swim for my mum's 9 month old GermanShepherd. Overall an easy walk which was enjoyable for both our dogs. It's lovely to see a childhood play area so easily accessible and looking the best it can. Many thanks to those who improved and care for the area!
