Very cosy pub with friendly and fast service, pizzas were around 14 but could easily feed two people for dinner as they have a half and half option. Pizzas were perfect on terms of taste and freshness. They offered us foil at the end to take it home with us which was great. Definitely recommend to anyone in Exeter

This was a favourite haunt of mine when I was at uni, the interior is still one of the best pubs I've ever been to and they do nice local ciders at the bar, but unfortunately falls down on its food. The firehouse pizzas were famous a few years ago, they were huge, square, and served in wicker baskets, but unfortunately the pub has now swapped this for much smaller, blander pizzas in a cardboard box at the same price. Should bring back the old firehouse pizzas if they want to retain some of the pub's character!
The old firehouse used to be excellent, with massive and very cheap pizzas, a great atmosphere and reasonably priced cider with a great selection. Recently it's gone downhill significantly - they only have a few ciders available with increased prices (good local ciders, luckily) and the price of a pizza has been ramped up (though is still affordable).
There are some old reviews talking about beer range etc but that's an old version of the pub! One local beer on gravity though. The pizza's good and there was nothing actually wrong with the place, just that it is more a students/pizza sort of feel these days.
Ever so beautiful here, no matter the season! Candlelight, beautiful mood lights all year, friendly staff, multiple rooms, peaceful at times, ever social, great selection of drinks at affordable prices, FOOD!!! Oh great food, but it starts at 5pm if you can wait - umm, definitely worth the wait if you can! Probably some of the best food you will have in Exeter, but don't take my word for it, have a bite! Have a drink if you fancy!
Used to love this place, so we travelled down 2.5 hours specifically for firehouse pizza and ale. There's no longer any guest ales and we never go to try the pizza. They sat us down next to the upstairs door which was left open and cold air was coming through. The waitress had what I can only describe as a complete mental breakdown and had a go at us for closing it because it was inconvenient for her to open it every time she wanted to go through.
Firehouse pizza's are still the best in Exeter! They are running a reduced menu (food and drinks) and the pizza's are smaller, but i would still highly recommend, especially since they are taking part in eat out to help out, plus if you order on the city club app you get a free 5! The spicy chorizo pizza was amazing and the pepperoni was also excellent! Service was great too.
We were really looking forward to a meal here but they wouldn’t let us in with an under 18! I am stunned a pizza restaurant puts an age restriction on entry. My over 18 year old daughter was also refused entry so you are probably better to go to a more inclusive pizzeria.
