John Dobie at Everys Solicitors, Exmouth has provided us with excellent service for the simultaneous sale of one property and the purchase of a new home. His stewardship of the entire process – in particular his communications throughout the purchase of a house posing many complications (including with difficult access issues, very limited paperwork, cerificates, building consents, no guarantees or warranties, or information about the heating or electrical system etc) has been superlative. John has communicated his progress daily over a critical period of several weeks, identified and explained any obstacles to our progress, responded quickly to our queries and explained everything in language we, as lay people, could understand. In addition, he copied us important communications to/from other solicitors in the chain, the building society (giving us a mortgage loan and requiring timely insurance etc.), and kept the estate agents well informed, no mean feat! He has successfully expedited the completion of our sale and purchase – a particular success in the face of tardy communication from others in the “chain” and their failure to provide Law Society “standard” paperwork (like the “property information form” and “fixtures and fitting forms”) in a timely manner. John’s clearly-stated requirements of what he required from others in the chain (on our behalf), in order to enable him to provide us with full professional advice was both inspiring and effective. We were very lucky to have his services and recommend him without hesitation.
