Good for kids
So, there sadly isn't much left of this piece of history. You can ascend to the top of the bailey and take some lovely scenic photos of the surrounding area. But that's about it really. I feel it could be looked after a bit better. So, the history can be preserved for future generations.

Eye Castle in Suffolk, England is what is called a 'motte-and-bailey' type of construction from the early Norman period. The name derives from the building convention of having a wooden or stone keep, situated on a raised area of ground called a 'motte', accompanied by a walled courtyard, or 'bailey', surrounded by a protective ditch and palisade. Eye Castle is unusual in being one of only two castles mentioned in the Domesday book of 1086 as being a source of income for its owners. the castle was sacked and largely destroyed in 1265 but what remains of the site is open to visitors and provides a viewing platform that offers panoramic views of the nearby Parish Church, Eye village and surrounding countryside for many miles around. There is no entry fee and the castle is accessible through a gate in Castle Hill, off Castle Street.
Beautiful views and good run around for the kids!
It's quite interesting free to get in won't take long to see it
Unexpected. Been to Eye loads of times, never knew there was a castle. Its not Framlingham or Orford but it gives a good view over a lovely Suffolk town.
