Brilliant place to go with kids, dogs, family or on your own. There is church and cemetery inside and usually "Seahorse coffee truck" is opened there, so you can grab a bite and coffee and sit inside the castle on the bench or to have picnic on the blanket, surrounded by old walls of Portchester Castle. Highly recommend.

This is a photo of the church within the castle grounds, it’s a lovely walk through the grounds and you can walk around the perimeter of the castle. We struggled to park but if you wait and be patient you’ll get a spot. Dog friendly but keep on a lead. We have been here a few times and will definitely be back

Currently open to the public. A lovely walk around. Toilets available. Additionally there are two cafes available to get a drink and bite to eat, with the church cafe providing delicious hot food and homemade pies

The inside of the Castle is closed, however you can still enter in through the main gates where there is huge open space, church and cafe. Not sure if the castle cafe open but currently in the court yard there is Seahorse Cafe in a trailer take out for snacks and drinks

Seen from the A27/M27 for 30years of passing by. Finally visited this place when cycling past. It’s great. Lots of intriguing history and several mobile coffee shops in the grounds selling great coffee cake and snacks. Definitely worth a visit.

We have been here many times and in all seasons. Plenty of space to walk around either following the path along the walls taking in views of the solent or exploring inside. There is a lovely little church inside which sometimes holds craft markets and the like. If you want to explore the castle more you can pay and go inside. Work your way up through the tower until you get to the top and take in the panoramic views. Well worth a visit on a quiet sunny day.
