I had a day's workshop experience with Rachel at the Swanwick Studio yesterday. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day, with just 4 of us on the workshop, mainly due to the size of the studio, but this also meant that Rachel was always on hand to offer help and guidance without having to spread her time too thinly. I had had a go at stained glass work before so had brought an idea of what I wanted to create in the 6 hours, but for the other ladies, Rachel had provided plenty of examples of images to inspire them, stimulate their ideas and show them some things that were possible with the materials. Rachel was happy for me to do my own thing, and encouraged me to use whatever resources I wanted from the huge quantity and range of types and colours of glass that she had. I was happy cutting and grinding the glass pieces, using the skills and knowledge I had gained previously, but was most nervous about improving my skills with the soldering. Shortly after starting this phase of the day I felt like I had conquered my demons, but appreciated the help that Rachel gave me when I felt my results weren't quite up to the level I hoped for. I know I still need practice with this skill, but am definitely encouraged that I am moving in the right direction. Overall, it was a fantastic day. The hours flew by, with plenty of cups of tea and biscuits, and all four of us came away with a lovely hand made piece to treasure. This is an amazing technique to work with, and having someone as enthusiastic and helpful as Rachel to guide you, who has years of experience to call upon, its is one I will happily return to again. Thank you Rachel, I'm sure I will book another session later in the year.

Cracking little studio. We had a visit to pick up our order from a local show. Everything was ready and very well made. Had a great time talking to Rachel over a coffee and ordered more as we liked Rachel's stuff so much. Would highly recommend Rachel and her studio. We arrived as customers and left as friends, what more can you say. Thanks again Rachel.

My husband and I enjoyed a fun filled day with Rachel. We started by being told the basics, were then able to start our individual designs, and given copious cups of tea and biscuits to help us on our way, amidst much laughter. The 4:1 tuition ratio was excellent, giving each of us time with Rachel when we needed it. Learning how to cut the glass, then prepare it, and soldering it was interesting, and at times challenging. But we learned a lot. We were all able to finish our very different work in the time allotted. It was great to come away with our own individual pieces and gave us both a great sense of achievement. Thank you for an excellent day.

Superb day course- Hi, using my husbands google account to write this review as I do not have an account but wanted to share with you what a fabulous experience the days Glassworks Experience was yesterday. Totally engrossing... totally addictive. And will be booking another day. Rachel is great at encouraging and assisting when necessary for you to create your own stunning art piece. All the best, Jenny.
