Use this outfit at your peril. We were clearance Agent for a paid-through container, meaning Maersk were responsible for the delivery. They were contracted and paid to do the job at origin. Late arrival of their ship meant we had to move our original booking slot. The new date the Customer required was within the rent-free period, but Maersk/Sealand had insufficient vehicles to cover. Instead of apologising for this, they have sent us a rent bill for several hundred pounds - incurred only due to their lack of vehicles. What is shameful is they moved the container off the Quay within the rent-free period to ensure they themselves paid no quay-rent. We have argued, but they insist they are fault-free and have now hit us with a dunning letter. So: fail your Customer and seek to profit by it. Go onto their website, and you’ll see a lot of pretty words about “core values”’ “honesty”, “trust”, and so on. Looks like they really mean that, doesn’t it?
