We got the price "down" as we all know inflated to look like your getting a better price. Windows got fitted and that's where the issue's started We called them got some one out who did what I would say was that's all we are doing job, not happy with that I rang again gentlemen came out very quickly took photos of the still issues after 3 weeks I rang and got a Ricardo who said would cal back to say whether they were able to come out Friday or the following weekend they had no photos from visit and took 3 weeks for the report so I sent over 10 or so pictures, strangely no phone cal at all which is fine as all details are going off now to the ombudsman Good thing we have not paid yet and will not till all is done fully

In choosing which company to replace our windows with recently, we spoke to these folk. We reached out to 4 local companies and these people happen to cold call us ten minutes later so we let them speak to us. Afterwards, we decided we would never use them. What was behind our choice? 1) Old school double-glazing selling tactics. First HI's salesman stayed for nearly 90 minutes, totally outstaying their welcome, and kept offering discounts if we signed up today, allowed them to put up prominent ad boards, etc. Salesman had to keep phoning manager to sort offers which felt like total BS. 2) Claims of uniqueness were unfounded. First HI claimed to be unique on green credentials and recycling of old windows, on energy rating of windows and on ability to upgrade hinges for easy washing (at quite some price). This is why we allowed them to come round. But the other companies could all demonstrate the same recycling levels, high energy rates and easy-wash hinges (the latter sometimes already included). 3) Over-priced compared to competition. First HI's salesman gave an oral quote on the day, and then immediately offered a discount of nearly one third. The other three quotes we got later were about the same as each other. These others were around one third of the price of First HI's initial quote and half the price of First HI's one-the-day-discount offer, so First HI's quote was way more than their competitors. 4) Written quote never arrived. First HI promised to send a written quote, but 16 days later it still hasn't arrived. The other companies all came afterwards and sent quotes sooner. I guess they realised we hadn't fallen for their nonsense on the day and aren't going to bother sending one. (No post, no relevant emails in inbox or spam folder.) In short, this is the approach that made double-glazing companies the butt of everyone's jokes in the '80s and '90s. Who knew that anyone was still doing this? Don't condone this kind of behaviour.

We made an enquiry on line and had a quick response making an appointment to discuss our requirements. The sales man was prompt well presented and nicely spoken. Whilst a lot of people may not be interested in details about the company and only wish to see the product specification and what best price they can secure, we were interested to learn about who we were giving our hard earned money to and what quality and service we could expect. Elliott was our salesman, he was eloquent, charming, knowledgeable on all the products and not at all pushy. The only criticism we had was the quoting of inflated prices which would stand good for 2 years, then being given the actual cost provided an order was placed immediately. The product and the well versed salesman like Elliott can sell a product like this without the play with pricing. We placed an order for two reasons the first being the standard of quality of the product itself and the efficient, professional personal service extended to us by Elliott making us feel we have not only chosen the right product but a reliable, trustworthy company to provide and install our windows. Elliott is a young man who will go far in his career, is a credit to his family and to his employers. Now we wait for our windows and door to be fitted as efficiently as the first part of this process.

As a Telephone Canvasser you are working for a Kangaroo Company which cons you out of your leads and also causes your leads to fall through after the management put the Customer off after you've done all the Good Work. DEFINITELY wouldn't recommend working there. Also they don't give a Hoot about being Covid 19 compliant in the office where there is NO social distancing.

Our experience with First home improvements was great. From first making contact, the return call to discus our requirements and book an appointment with their rep. The on time visit with their friendly and knowledgeable sales reps. The visit from the technical person to measure up and second check that what we were sold was accurate. We had a couple of changes, no problems The installation team were a great bunch, friendly, clean, quick, didn't leave a mess. The finished product looks great 10/10 the whole way through the process

The sales team gave helpful advice in the course of developing a priced proposal particularly in relation to aesthetics and in highlighting the key technical features. My only comment otherwise is that it was not necessary for them to follow the common practice of initially quoting a high price and then substantially discounting it. The work on site in installing the windows was carried out to a high standard with minimal disturbance, including rebuilding an area of brickwork in very poor condition over the head of one window. All the operatives were polite and helpful and efficiently cleaned up on completion. Few queries arose in the course of the project but for such as there were it would have been helpful to have a single nominated point of contact. Overall I would be delighted to recommend First to anyone planning to replace their windows.

Very pleased with our windows and our experience with this company. Very quick turn around from initial appointment to fitting. Fitters were brilliant very quick, professional, hard working and cleaned up all the mess. Needed to wait for a panel for my side door but was fitted the following week. Had calls to check on progress and to see if I was happy on several occasions throughout process. Would recommend.
