AVOID FLEET MORTGAGES AT ALL COSTS!!! My buyer solicited the services of Fleet Mortgages only to participate in an extremely elongated and unprofessional process. Request for information was piecemeal and often completely unnecessary by wider industry standards.

After lengthy amounts of paperwork and constant hassle requiring more information than originally asked for, I finally received my mortgage offer. As this was a remortgage, Fleet instructed one of their local valuers to value the property which had undergone extensive refurbishment. I was informed by my solicitor that Fleet had suggested the property shouldn’t have been valued so high in comparison to the price I initially paid for the property. On this basis the mortgage was refused, despite the valuation being made by there own independent valuer which does not seem to make any sense. This has been a total waste of my time and money, therefore I would not recommend Fleet Mortgages.
